Worked on the driver's door panel wood trim this week. I actually don't like it, but it's what the car came with. As you can see in the second pic it's not as simple as just reattaching it. Holes were drilled in the panel to attach the piece, so if I want to have panels without the wood trim I'll need to buy replacement panels....annoying.

Have you though about wrapping them? They have pretty good matte black vinyl wrap now, or if you want to get a little fancy you could do Piano black, faux aluminum or carbon fibre, etc. |

Found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/15-x-3ft-3M-...-/181603038836 Looks pretty similar and it's 3M, so it's probably pretty good and it appears to be pretty similar to the original Alpina wood trim. I actually wouldn't mind it that much if the trim wasn't cracked all over the place. That 3M wrap might be the way to go so it still looks original. |

I actually hadn't considered wrapping it with a wood-look. That is kind of genius. Now I want a dark (almost black) wood grain in mine

Got a replacement shift boot. It's not new, but the condition looks much better than the one that's in the car now:

Finally replaced the shift boot today. Since I was already in there, I applied leather cleaner/conditioner to the seats. It doesn't take that long to do, but for some reason I always hate doing it.
Old New Looks much better |

I hate it when I either can't or don't want to do work on the car myself. Dropped it off today to have a leak checked out. Apparently, it's leaking at the high and low pressure sensors under the brake master. Since it's already at the shop I figured I'd get them to flush out the power steering fluid and do a cooling system flush. Going to cost me $750....barf. No wonder I usually just get my hands dirty!!!!
