That's what I thought, but then I found this one that sold last year in California with an ask of only $9,000:

Looks like it sold for quite a bit more than that one. Just as a side note though, the one in that link was just the car price. It mentioned it didn't include shipping etc. to get it to the US, so that's basically the same as a car selling at auction for 900k JPY.

Guys, I dont think thats an Alpina. Looking at the VIN thats a clone. Real Alpina VIN's start with WAP. BMW with WBA.

I think the car pre-dates Alpina's recognition by the government as being a manufacturer, at which point they could issue their own VINs.
