I love E21s. Would love to own a B6 someday. Do you know anything about where your car came from other than the previous owner? As far as I know, the B6 2.8 used an M30 motor.

Based on the info, pictures as well as the e21 site info, the production years of B6 2.8 was from (11/78- to 8/81), theoretically this car should have an M30B28 engine instead of M20 base engine.

Actually if there was has a #, you could check it out here.

Pardon my ignorance folks, but the number you are referring to is on the Alpina plate on the dash, correct? If yes, believe it or not I do not remember it, but will check it out the next time I am at the lake where it is stored.
