Default This forum needs a better logo - and pics!

I'm no graphic artist (see logo, above). If you are, and would like to take a stab at designing a better logo or header banner for this site please go right ahead and post it in this thread.

Also, there is a shortage of public domain Alpina photos on the web. Post photos of your car in this thread if you'd like to make them available to whoever redesigns our header.

not sure if there are trademark/licensing restrictions but it seems the Alpina Register website uses the authentic Alpina logo frequently

Most Alpina boards around the world use the same logo.

Dumb question alert: How do you tell the difference between a public domain Alpina image and one that's private?

There are stock photo sites that may supply free images, and wiki commons can also be a source. General speaking you can't just lift images off of other websites, especially company websites, and use them on your own site.

Welcome to the forum by the way!

Thanks for the answer and thanks for the welcome.

The internet is full of forums and blogs where posted images are long detached from their original sources. In my opinion, these images are fair game because anyone who decides to post an original image without first making an effort to somehow physically protect or watermark the image should have no expectation that the image that they've posted won't be downloaded and shared elsewhere. Posting an unprotected image on the internet is kind of like adding a gallon of pure spring water to a lake hoping that the gallon that you've added won't get mixed in with the millions of gallons of water that are already in the lake. Of course, that's just my opinion on the matter.

I guess we could go about 900px wide, but I wouldn't want to go much more than 150px high.
