Not near enough data (an Alpina badge he says... where?, how many?, plaque?, etc.) and no pics... highly unlikely it's an Alpina I'd say.

Oh no. There is nothing Alpina about that car. It's been on Craigslist for many months. Photos show a black '78 530i with a roll of carpet on the roof and an incorrect Alpina badge on the trunk. It was only $500, so he could probably break even parting a couple things and selling it to the yard. Being from Escondido, it's inland enough to not have much in the way of corrosion.
