With what happened to chrislux recently over on M5board I decided to order some new stuff:

Anyone know why it looks like an imprint has been removed on the fan? One company buy another or something?

Hmmm... that is very strange indeed. I would call the company you purchased from and ask.

There was a sticker on the fan as well, but I didn't post it before because it's kind of a crappy pic (is says "ACM Germany"). I would assume this is possibly the "new" company. I'm not too concerned about it, I was just wondering if anyone else has some across this

I got new brake parts a while back and now that we should be into some better weather I'm starting to work on them

I don't have a pic, but after removing the rear wheels the rear brakes look ok. I guess the squeal has been coming from the front.

Great to start working on the car again after the long winter. I've got some things I need to catch up on too.

Are the B8 brakes the same as the standard E36 (328) or US M3 or ?

The rears are the same as the M3, but the fronts are specific to the B8. The front brakes are specially made by Lucas. Unfortunately, this means it's really expensive to get any components for the front brakes A member of the forum (testdriver) helped me out to get a better price on some new brake pads though

Bummer on the front brakes being expensive.

I guess if the rotors or calipers go you might be better to upgrade to an aftermarket big brake kit. Although I understand the desire to keep things original

Finally got to take the car on a road trip I thought the seats would get uncomfortable, but they were actually good for the whole trip. A couple of pics when I got where I was going:

Yeah, I had to drive on a small portion of dirt road through some road construction....not happy about that.

Sleeping while I enjoyed my time away

Many, many bugs and dirt removed after I got home.

Good for your for enjoying the car even though it get's a little dirty I'm sure it's a great road trip car. Nice to drive it after all the work you've put into it too.
