Default Article on the restoration of a 1974 Alpina-inspired E9

For the Alpina fans out there who may not be familiar with the old-school origins of Alpina and their touring car exploits, here is a link to a 4-page PDF article (I couldn't attach is because the file size limit is 1.9MB and the full file is 3.9MB).

No I do not own an original B2 Alpina, but I am the 2nd owner of this 1974 BMW 3.0CS with a bunch of Alpina original elements from the drivetrain to the engine and the interior.

The Alpina inspired pinstripes may not be to everyone's taste, I happen to love it, and it was amazing to watch the painter do it by hand (he usually worked on motor-cycles).

I prepared this article a few years ago after the restoration by the great team under Mario Langsten at Vintage Sports & Restoration in Bow NH.

Here some photos of the restoration process.... http://www.vsr1.com/index.php?mact=A...nid=19&page=19

Enjoy.
