I have the same wood trim in my B3 and I'm also not crazy about it. But like you said, it's 4 new door panels to completely remove it, and actually I'm not sure if I could re-use my Alpina-cloth...

The license plate frame is the one listed in RealOEM for the 1 series e82. It is also the same one listed for the 6 series. I would bet that it will match up to most if not all of the euro 2 holes...
