I'd love to give one of these cars a try, but I don't actually have a desire to own one...

Looks like it was a no sale this week. I really like these looks of these E38 B12s; I'd be all over one if I wasn't so scared of that V12.

what a beauty. but WHY would somebody cheap out on the ALPINA stitched
seats ordering such an expensive car when it was new? that is just crazy...

I don't know. My B8 doesn't have Alpina stitched seats either. At first I was disappointed, but it was then pointed out to me that it will be cheaper to have the seats redone when the day comes :D

If you dont mind me asking, does anyone know why this was a "no sale"?

Something like this is what I am looking for, but I am not to familair with the auction process. If it didnt sell when it first went across what will happen to it? Is their a way to tell if they are the Longwheelbase version from the auction sheet?

It probably didn't meet reserve. It might return to the auction for sale again - they often do. Sometimes selling for less than was offered the first time around.

That one doesn't look like a long version. I always decode the VIN provided on the auction sheet at this site:

http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/

Visit the site in Google Chrome and it will translate it for you.

If you were interested in the car and wanted to bid on it would you be able to find out the reserve price ahead of time?

Thanks for the link, I am quite familiar with RUBMW. If you add /eng to the end it translates it for you. However they made it so you need an account to run VINs now. Is it just my computer or is the picture of the auction sheet super tiny? I cant read anything on it.

The only way you can know what the reserve is if the seller's starting price is really high or if you know the seller. Otherwise, there is no way to tell. Or at least I don't believe so.

Good to know. I emailed Scott at JCD and i'm waiting to hear back from him. I showed my neighbor the picures of this one and hes now quite interested in purchasing one.

I dont think their is a B12 in Canada yet is their?

I'd be surprised if there wasn't one in Canada already. Most people aren't on the forums. I thought I had the first B8 in Canada until I stumbled across a shop that had some documentation on refurbishing one they brought in.

Ya that makes sense. Theirs a lot more Alpina's in the US then I thought there was as well. Ive been seeing more then I ever thought were down there.
