I'm giving the seller the benefit of the doubt. What do you think?

I don't know, I'd want more evidence before deciding either way. Things get forgotten by Corporate memories as well.

On the detail side only, the build plaque is of very poor quality (I should know, having made dozens of precision reproduction plaques for owners). The Alpina logo on the plaque is really bad and of very poor resolution. The face of the plaque is also missing the surrounding frame, found on all the Alpina plaques..

As far as I know, Alpina never put their logo in both the speedo and tacho dials, only one or the other.

There are a bunch of questions and none of the answers lend credence to the car being real. Callaway turbo kit, the "build sheet" is totally incorrect and doesn't mesh with the story of the car, particularly that of the interior. Also, by the time this car would have been made for testing, they had made several C1s etc using the M20, and all the B6s had M30s, so...

Doesn't even have an Alpina steering wheel.

Sure, while things certainly don't add up, it's all speculation, but is be hard pressed to part with that kind of coin on something Alpina has denied on multiple occasions.
